Decided to sort the Batman villains into houses. Here’s an explanation for each.

Scarecrow: Ravenclaw.

In the Batman Adventures comics that went with TAS, Scarecrow was shown to have enjoyed teaching, and even attacked the city for refusing to spend more tax money on education. Likewise, Robin convinced him to provide the antidote for his technology making people unable to read by making him realize that he was spreading ignorance, and by appealing to Crane’s inner teacher.

He also once in the same series broke out for the sole purpose of becoming a teacher again…it didn’t last, though, since he ended up attacking a boy for harming his favorite student (it was implied the student was a victim of date rape, but because it was a kid friendly comic, they didn’t use those words)

In other media, he is often obsessed with his research, and many of his crimes are committed to fund his research.

Riddler: Ravenclaw

He also values intelligence, and let’s face it, he’d love having to answer a question to get into the dorm every single time. It’s an obvious choice.

Harley Quinn: Slytherin

Now, this may seem like an odd choice, until you consider Slytherins use any means to achieve their ends, and compare it to how she met Joker in the first place. She had flirted her way through college to get her psychology degree, and planned to interview Joker to publish a book on him and jump-start her career.

A Hufflepuff would never have done that to avoid work for their degree, a Ravenclaw would shudder at the thought of such cheating methods (not counting Lockhart), and a Gryffindor would consider it dishonorable.

Mr. Freeze: Ravenclaw

He’s a doctor, of course. I did consider Gryffindor, but I decided Ravenclaw fits him best.

Two Face: Gryffindor

Harvey Dent still often finds himself working for good, and still has a sense of honor. In some comics he even helped keep the streets crime free while Batman was gone.

Man Bat: Ravenclaw

I ran out of ideas, figured he was a scientist, and winged it. I don’t know this villain that well.

Penguin: Slytherin

I always knew this. He’s manipulative, clever, and uses his mind to get others to do what he wants, always placing himself on top. He uses any means to achieve his ends. He also is very traditional, which is considered a Slytherin trait, as well.

Ras Al Ghul: Gryffindor

Despite being a killer, he does so because he feels like it is for the greater good. Some could argue this would put him into Slytherin, but because of his personal sense of honor, I felt Gryffindor was more suitable.

Poison Ivy: Slytherin

She fits the “whatever means to achieve her ends” profile. She uses her charms and abilities to control those around her, and is not above seduction to get what she wants.

Joker: Gryffindor

Shocking, I know. I figured he would either be a Slytherin or a Gryffindor, and ended up going with Gryffindor for the image.

Ventriloquist: Hufflepuff

Ventriloquist would be in Hufflepuff because of his loyalty towards Scarface. And no, I am not going to sort Scarface individually.

Killer Croc: Hufflepuff

Well, this was a case of not fitting into the other houses. He’s not the brightest, so he can’t be in Ravenclaw, he generally doesn’t fit the profile for Slytherin, and he’s definitely not a Gryffindor. I like to think he would value work, so Hufflepuff it is.

Mad Hatter: Ravenclaw

I was carefully trying to decide, and ended up going with Ravenclaw due to his high intelligence. I considered Hufflepuff and Slytherin, but…..eh, he fit Ravenclaw best.

Clayface: Slytherin

This is the point I ,started running out of ideas., I don’t know a ton about Clayface, but he uses his shapeshifting abilities to manipulate others, which could be considered a Slytherin trait.

Catwoman: Gryffindor

In most of her incarnations, Catwoman has her own personal code of chivalry, refusing to kill, and often siding with Batman when lives are at stake (or when she feels like flirting. Meow.)

Dr. Hugo Strange: Ravenclaw

He’s highly analytical, and highly intelligent. He’s also one of the few characters to figure out who Batman really is IN EVERY INCARNATION OF THE CHARACTER.

wizarding schools around the world:Mahoutokoro School of Magic (Japanese: 魔法所, Mahōtokoro)

This ancient Japanese school has the smallest student body of the eleven great wizarding schools and takes students from the age of seven (although they do not board until they are eleven). While day students, wizarding children are flown back and forth to their homes every day on the backs of a flock of giant storm petrels. The ornate and exquisite palace of Mahoutokoro is made of mutton-fat jade, and stands on the topmost point of the ‘uninhabited’ (or so Muggles think) Volcanic island of Minami Iwo Jima.

Students are presented with enchanted robes when they arrive, which grow in size as they do, and which gradually change colour as the learning of their wearer increases, beginning a faint pink colour and becoming (if top grades are achieved in every magical subject) gold. If the robes turn white, this is an indication that the student has betrayed the Japanese wizard’s code and adopted illegal practices (which in Europe we call ‘Dark’ magic) or broken the International Statute of Secrecy. To 'turn white’ is a terrible disgrace, which results in instant expulsion from the school and trial at the Japanese Ministry for Magic. Mahoutokoro’s reputation rests not only on its impressive academic prowess, but also on its outstanding reputation for Quidditch, which, legend has it, was introduced to Japan centuries ago by a band of foolhardy Hogwarts students who were blown off course during an attempt to circumnavigate the globe on wholly inadequate broomsticks. Rescued by a party of wizarding staff from Mahoutokoro, who had been observing the movements of the planets, they remained as guests long enough to teach their Japanese counterparts the rudiments of the game, a move they lived to regret. Every member of the Japanese Quidditch team and the current Champion’s League winners (the Toyohashi Tengu) attributes their prowess to the gruelling training they were given at Mahoutokoro, where they practise over a sometimes turbulent sea in stormy conditions, forced to keep an eye out not only for the Bludgers but also for planes from the Muggle airbase on a neighbouring island.
